ASP Level 2 Electrician Berry: New Electricity Connection & Power Pole Installation

new electricity connections berry

New power pole installation and electricity connection in Far Meadow.

Far Meadow | Berry

Looking for a trusted ASP Level 2 electrician in Berry? Our Level 2 electricians recently completed a new electricity connection for a rural property in Far Meadow, near Berry.

The vacant site did not have an established power supply, so the owner needed the electrical infrastructure installed before construction of the new home could begin.

The completed works provide the property with a safe and compliant electricity connection, ready for the next stage of development.

New private power pole installation

We installed a new private steel power pole to receive the overhead electricity supply from the local network. When determining the position of the pole, we considered the location of existing structures and the owner’s plans for future development of the property.

Private power poles are often required on rural properties and larger blocks where the home or other buildings are located some distance from the street electricity network. The pole provides a secure connection point from which electricity can later be distributed throughout the property.

As accredited Level 2 ASP electricians, we are authorised to complete the specialised work required between the electricity network and a private property. This includes new overhead connections, private power poles, metering equipment and associated electricity supply infrastructure.

Meter box and electrical protection

A weatherproof meter box was installed on the new pole to house the property’s electricity meters, switchboard components and electrical protection equipment.

This equipment allows electricity use to be safely metered and provides a central point from which the electrical supply can be controlled and distributed. Completing this work at an early stage provides power for builders and trades during construction, while allowing the permanent supply to be extended to the new home when required.

Scope of electrical works

The work was completed in accordance with current NSW electrical and electricity network requirements.

Excavation and underground power installation

The project also involved excavating a trench and laying underground power lines from the new private power pole into the property.

Underground cabling provides a protected electricity supply without additional overhead lines running across the block. The route and depth of the trench were carefully planned to meet current safety and electricity network requirements while considering the proposed location of the new home and other future construction.

Once the underground electrical conduits and power lines were installed, the trench was backfilled and the site was prepared for the next stage of development.

Preparing a rural property for construction

Arranging electricity early in a rural building project can help prevent delays once construction begins. It provides a reliable power source for builders and trades while establishing the infrastructure required for the completed home.

With the new power pole, overhead connection and metering equipment installed, the property is now ready for construction to commence.

Yes. We undertake underground electricity connections for rural, residential and commercial properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Level 2 electrician for a new electricity connection?

Yes. Work connecting a property to the electricity network must be completed by an authorised ASP Level 2 electrician. This includes new overhead and underground connections, private power poles and associated metering equipment.

Can a Level 2 electrician install or replace a private power pole?

Yes. Our accredited Level 2 electricians install and replace private power poles throughout Berry, Far Meadow and the wider Shoalhaven region.

Can you install underground power lines in Berry?

Yes. We install underground power lines for rural, residential and commercial properties throughout Berry and surrounding areas. Our services include planning the cable route, excavation and trenching, laying the underground electrical conduits and power lines, backfilling and completing the required connections.

Can overhead and underground power be used for the same property?

Yes. Depending on the site, an overhead connection can run from the local electricity network to a private power pole, with underground power lines then extending from the pole into the property. This can reduce the need for additional overhead lines across the block.

When should electricity infrastructure be arranged for a new home?

It is best to plan the electricity connection before construction begins. Installing the power pole, meter box and underground supply early can provide electricity for builders and trades while preparing the property for its permanent connection.
