New private power pole installation
We installed a new private steel power pole to receive the overhead electricity supply from the local network. When determining the position of the pole, we considered the location of existing structures and the owner’s plans for future development of the property.
Private power poles are often required on rural properties and larger blocks where the home or other buildings are located some distance from the street electricity network. The pole provides a secure connection point from which electricity can later be distributed throughout the property.
As accredited Level 2 ASP electricians, we are authorised to complete the specialised work required between the electricity network and a private property. This includes new overhead connections, private power poles, metering equipment and associated electricity supply infrastructure.
Meter box and electrical protection
A weatherproof meter box was installed on the new pole to house the property’s electricity meters, switchboard components and electrical protection equipment.
This equipment allows electricity use to be safely metered and provides a central point from which the electrical supply can be controlled and distributed. Completing this work at an early stage provides power for builders and trades during construction, while allowing the permanent supply to be extended to the new home when required.
