Industrial property underground power installation

underground power

Underground electricity connection for industrial units.

Woollamia | South Coast NSW

We recently completed a full underground power connection for a set of eight newly-built industrial units in Woollamia, on the NSW South Coast.

Delivered in partnership with Matt Buckley Building, this project involved every stage of the underground electricity connection process from excavation and cable laying through to final connection and testing.

Electrical scope of works

Our team managed the complete installation using in-house equipment and expertise to ensure a safe, efficient, and long-lasting power solution tailored for a commercial environment. This was completed in 2023, with all works delivered to the highest safety and compliance standards.

Why choose underground power?

The main difference between underground and overhead electricity lies in how the power is delivered. While overhead lines use poles and exposed wires that can be vulnerable to weather and falling branches, underground systems offer a cleaner, safer and more reliable alternative.

Here’s why more property owners and developers are choosing underground power connections:

  • Increased reliability: Buried cables are shielded from storms, wind, and fire hazards—leading to fewer outages and greater peace of mind.
  • Improved safety: Underground systems reduce the risk of live wire exposure and are ideal for bushfire-prone or high-traffic areas.
  • Better visual appeal: With no poles or overhead wires, underground power enhances the appearance of both residential and industrial developments.
  • Future-proof infrastructure: Perfect for new subdivisions, long-term developments, or expanding properties, underground connections provide scalable, modern infrastructure that supports future growth.
  • Flexible for rural and custom builds: Underground systems can be customised to suit rural properties or complex layouts where overhead wiring isn’t practical.

Underground power offers benefits for many sectors, including:

  • Commercial developers: Enhance the market value and safety of new builds, as seen at our Woollamia industrial project.
  • Residential estates: Improve curb appeal and meet council and design standards.
  • Rural property owners: Power remote buildings, equipment, or sheds with minimal disruption.
  • Homeowners: Upgrade from overhead to underground power for a safer, cleaner, and more modern property.
