We recently completed the installation of an outdoor lighting upgrade for a beautiful weatherboard cottage in Berry.
The owner wanted to improve visibility and safety around the outside of the home while choosing lighting that complemented the age and character of the property.
The owner selected heritage-style black wall lights with clear glass globes. They opted for clear, filament-style globes because they produce a warm light.
Improving outdoor safety
Outdoor lighting plays an important role in making entrances, paths and the areas surrounding a home safer to navigate after dark.
The new lights were installed at carefully planned intervals around the exterior of the cottage, providing consistent lighting near doors, windows, walkways and other frequently used areas.
This helps residents and visitors move safely around the property while improving visibility and security at night.
Subtle ambient lighting
The property is surrounded by expansive lawns and the owner didn’t want the lighting to overpower the landscape or make the grounds unnecessarily bright.
Rather than using harsh floodlights, the wall-mounted fittings provide subtle ambient lighting around the cottage with the warm light highlighting the weatherboard exterior and architectural features while retaining the peaceful atmosphere of the rural setting.
