Underground power + EV charger installation
Erowal Bay | South Coast NSW
With the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), future-proofing commercial properties with EV charging infrastructure is becoming essential – especially in the tourism sector.
Our team recently completed a comprehensive electrical upgrade at Dungowan Waterfront Accommodation in Erowal Bay, near Nowra on the NSW South Coast. The project was designed to support the installation of an EV charging station and involved significant infrastructure enhancements to ensure a reliable and high-capacity power supply.
Electrical scope of works
- Installation of an underground power supply
- Distribution board setup
- 3-phase electricity connection
- Upgrade of the existing switchboard
- Installation of a surge protection device
- EV charger installation
- Data connectivity and smart charger integration
- Final safety testing and commissioning
The old switchboard was modernised to comply with current standards, and the new 3-phase connection ensures optimal performance for high-output EV charging. Data connectivity was also integrated, enabling remote monitoring, usage tracking, and flexible load management.
How EV charging adds value to commercial properties.
As more Australians transition to electric vehicles, having access to on-site EV charging is fast becoming a key factor in travel decisions. For accommodation providers like Dungowan Waterfront Accommodation, this installation not only supports the growing number of eco-conscious travellers but also enhances the overall guest experience.
EV chargers can be a strong drawcard for holiday parks, motels, caravan parks, and resorts making them more appealing to a modern market, allowing businesses to:
- Increase bookings from EV owners
- Offer an additional, value-added service to guests
- Position themselves as forward-thinking and environmentally conscious
- Stay ahead of regulatory and infrastructure trends
A smart investment for the future.
Installing EV infrastructure is more than a short-term upgrade. It is a strategic investment. With projections showing strong growth in electric vehicle ownership over the next decade, businesses that install EV chargers now are setting themselves apart as leaders in sustainability and customer service.
If you manage a holiday park or commercial property and are considering an EV charger installation, we can provide the complete solution from planning and power upgrades to installation and ongoing support.
